Milind Soman, a name synonymous with fitness and discipline, is proving yet again that ageing is more about mindset than years lived. At 60, the model-turned-athlete continues to inspire people across generations with his uplifting philosophy on life, health, and freedom. In a recent interaction, Soman said, “Age isn’t dictated by your body but by your attitude. I’ve met people in their twenties who feel drained and people in their seventies who wake up ready to run. It’s not about holding on to youth—it’s about moving with joy and intention.”
The Best Time to Begin Is Always “Today”
Soman believes that fitness begins with self-love and consistency. “Looking good fades, but feeling good stays,” he explained. “When you work on strength, peace, and health, confidence naturally rises.”
He urges people not to wait for a perfect moment: “Many say, ‘I’ll start when I’m ready.’ But readiness is a myth. Whether you’re 20 or 60, the right time to celebrate your body is now.”
A New Meaning of Sexy at 60
As he steps into his sixties, Soman says the perception of ageing has completely transformed. “Sixty looks different now because we live differently,” he shared. “It’s no longer about counting how old you are, but about accumulating experiences. If you wake up excited every morning, 60 can feel like 40—or even 25.”

Freedom Through Fitness
For Soman, fitness symbolizes liberation—both physical and emotional. “Fitness gives me freedom,” he said. “The freedom to climb mountains, swim long distances, run barefoot, or simply breathe deeply without effort. I never aimed for medals or six-pack abs. My true happiness comes from knowing my body still responds to every challenge.”
Celebrating his milestone birthday, his wife Ankita Konwar posted a heartfelt message:
“Carrying your fire, your faith, and your unstoppable energy into my sixties would be the biggest blessing of my life.”
